Eric was my Ignite programme sponsored coach and had a profound impact in ultimately unlocking elements of thought and themes that when entering I was not aware of. Having had several coaching sessions with Eric, I have consequently been able to revive my mindset around specific important themes within my work and unlocking my ability to perceive certain personal themes which inadvertently were blocking me within the workspace/’my work brain’.

I applied for the ignite programme in Standard Chartered Bank specifically because I was going through work related stress and some degree of self-doubting episodes. I no longer recognised myself based on the feedback I received from colleagues.
I was fortunate to be accepted into this program and trilled to be assigned a great coach, Eric Christiaan Trijbels. Although both of us had very busy schedules we found time that worked perfectly. We started out by understanding the content and executing the coaching agreements then scheduled our six hourly sessions thereafter . There was an objective for every meeting, and we always checked at the end of the session to validate if the objective was accomplished I always wondered how my coach had such an exceptional listening skill where he heard words that was unspoken. He had an excellent way of summarising my thoughts into one powerful word, that always resonated with me.
My coach helped me learn how to always prioritise my wellbeing, by setting boundaries which has helped me support the current work-related stress. Eric helped me recognise my weakness which I thought was a strength and challenged me to think differently and explore other options to remain happy and contented. I have also applied some of the soft skills I learnt in my personal relationships, and it has worked like magic.
During the ignite program, I also had a great opportunity to interview and was fortunate to get a chance to change roles. My coach was my biggest supporter although we are not in the same business, he gave me the morale booster to go for gold😊 . I now have a better understanding and increased self-awareness with great ambition to continuously work towards my professional and personal goals.
